The most beautiful national parks of the USA
During my road trips I was able to visit some of the most beautiful National Parks in the United States. Having been to around 70 countries in the world I still have to say that the United States offer so many miracles of mother nature like no other place. Because of this I created the following list to inspire your travels and visit the most beautiful national parks of the US by yourself!
1. Grand Canyon
For me Grand Canyon has to be the undisputed number one of the most beautiful national parks in the United States. This UNESCO heritage site attracts millions of visitors from all around the globe each year. All of them will enjoy one of the most fascinating views on earth above the huge valleys. Hiking in this area must be one of the most thrilling adventures you can imagine – especially hiking down all the way to Havasu Falls. This sight alone makes Grand Canyon the most beautiful National Park in the US for me! Make sure to bring a travel tripod though as you will need one to get the best photographs at sunset.
Yellowstone is also a UNESCO heritage site and the first of all national parks. It is made up of more than 3.000 square miles of hot springs, valleys, panoramic views, geysers and awesome wildlife. Located in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho you will have to travel quite a while to see this great sight, but Yellowstone truly is one of the most beautiful national parks in the United States!
Located in California’s Sierra Nevada this UNESCO world heritage site is an extremely beautiful valley with breathtaking waterfalls, cliffs, flora and fauna. Yosemite NP covers a huge area and offers many awesome hiking and outdoor possibilities that will keep you busy for weeks. Conveniently located close to San Francisco, Yosemite is truly one of the most beautiful national parks that is also accessible quite easily.
The Everglades are located in Southern Florida and cover an area of more than 1.5 million acres. The subtropical climate allows avery diverse ecosphere with plenty of natural wonders to discover. Home to the famous American Alligator, the Everglades can be discovered by hiking, by car or by boat – whatever you prefer. This very unique heritage site will keep you busy for days in what is one of the most beautiful national parks in the United States.
5. Glacier NP
Located in the far Northeast of the United States, Glacier National Park is an incredible landscape covered with fascinating mountains, lakes, forests and wildlife. More than 700 miles of hiking trails offer perfect opportunities to get around this park. Plan ahead and give yourself enough time for one of the most beautiful national parks.
6. Zion NP
Zion National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in the US and offers some of the greatest views and hiking opportunities of the southwest. Breathtaking rock formations, huge cliffs, waterfalls, sand stone, valleys and deserts will keep you fascinated for weeks! Make sure to check out Angels Landing and the Emerald Pools!
7. Death Valley
Death Valley is a very different experience among the national parks listed here: located in the Californian desert you will drive through extremeley hot and humid places with a very interesting flora and fauna. Even though the conditions are bad for creatures and plants to exist there, you will find some spectacular things along the way! Make sure to visit Badwater Basin, the lowest point of the United States.
8. Arches NP
Arches National Park offers the most awesome collection of natural arches and bridges in the United States. More than 2.000 sandstone arches can be found in this area that nature created over such a long span of time. Places like Delicate Arch and Mesa Arch truly make this one of the most beautiful National Parks in the US!
9. Bryce Canyon
The giant amphitheatre of Bryce Canyon that is made up of thousands of sand stone hoodoos is an awesome sight in the southwest of the United States! Located near Zion National Park you definitely need to visit this place if you can. Check out the views of the panorama from Inspiration Point and Yovimpa Point – then you will understand why this is one of the most beautiful national parks!
10. Joshua Tree NP
Located in the Southern Californian desert, Joshua Tree National Park is a great place to visit. The typical Joshua Trees create awesome views and hiking possibilities in a very hot and dry ecosphere. Definitely one of the most beautiful national parks in the US!
